Recently, SICK Corporation of Germany has introduced an ultra-precise, high-performance mercury analysis instrument, MERCEM300Z, which has a patent for direct measurement and is able to quickly and reliably measure mercury in flue gas.
The analytical instrument combines organic heat analysis at high temperatures with Zeeman atomic absorption spectrometry to reduce the measurement range to 0-10 μg/m3, so mercury can be detected even at room temperature in the vaporized state. For further continuous monitoring, this analytical instrument is maintained for three months.
Mercury can cause poisoning. Mercury emissions must be strictly monitored in places such as cement kiln and flue gas incineration plants. Mercury hazards at a significant amount of vaporization at room temperature cannot be ignored either. Therefore, this requires very sophisticated and sensitive mercury analyzers.
