Shanghai Jiahao Ship Engineering Design Co., Ltd. built the ship and ocean engineering electric propulsion digital simulation laboratory project. It is understood that the laboratory project is self-funded by Shanghai Jiahao, and it is an important part of its efforts to increase the research and application of electric power propulsion. The entire project will be divided into two phases, and the second phase will be completed in December 2013. According to industry analysts, Shanghai Jiahao will make efforts in the research of electric propulsion application and will gain advantages for its ship type optimization and new ship type development.
Improve electric power research capabilities
According to the introduction of Shanghai Jiahao ship power experts, electric power propulsion has obvious advantages in many aspects compared with diesel propulsion. First, the vitality of electric propulsion is strong (that is, the redundancy is large). The diesel generator set in electric propulsion generally consists of multiple units. Any one generator can supply electric power to the electric propulsion motor, and the electric motor can also be made into double winding. Therefore, the vitality and flexibility of electric propulsion are stronger. Second, the electric propulsion has low noise and low vibration. The diesel generator set operates under a stable load without the noise generated by the gear box. The third is to use full-swing electric propulsion or pod-type electric propulsion to optimize the line type of the ship's crotch. Compared with the conventional diesel propeller, the propulsion power can be increased by about 15%, thus greatly saving fuel. Fourth, the arrangement of the diesel generator set on the ship is not restricted by the propulsion shafting, and the arrangement is more flexible and reasonable, thereby reducing the cabin volume and increasing the volume of the cargo or passenger cabin. In addition, the electric propulsion ship also has the advantages of flexible maneuvering, good maneuverability, large range of machine paddle matching operation, convenient installation, easy automation, and good economy. It is for these reasons that electric propulsion systems are increasingly being used in marine and offshore engineering. Studies have shown that electric propulsion has become the preferred mode of promotion for large luxury cruise ships.
In the 1990s, China's ship power experts focused on the research of electric propulsion theory and practical application; since the beginning of this century, China's new ships have increasingly adopted electric propulsion. In recent years, Shanghai Jiahao has gathered a group of domestic electric power promotion professionals through recruitment, and has comprehensive capabilities for conducting electric power application research, testing, design and supervision.
Establish electric push simulation laboratory
Shanghai Jiahao ship power experts believe that today's electric propulsion devices are divided into three categories. The first category (also known as the first generation) is conventional electric propulsion; the second category (also known as the second generation) has two types, namely, full-slewing electric propulsion and full-rotation tandem propeller electric propulsion; the third category (also The third generation is called pod-type electric propulsion. In practice, designers can select different types of electric propulsion systems for different ship types, and experiments conducted in simulation laboratories will provide an important basis for this choice.
In view of this, Shanghai Jiahao launched the first phase of the ship and ocean engineering electric propulsion digital simulation laboratory in July 2011. The total construction period is about two and a half years. The purpose of the simulation laboratory construction is to construct a digital simulation model of the electric propulsion system, verify the parameters of the actual ship electric propulsion system, and provide a basis for ship type optimization and electric propulsion system design in the development of new ship types. The research content of the laboratory mainly consists of six parts: research and analysis of the steady-state and dynamic indicators of the output voltage of the given main generator, comparison of the current harmonics and power factor of the propulsion inverter with different structures, research and analysis of the stability of the given propulsion motor State and dynamic characteristics, simulating propeller torque and speed characteristics, analyzing grid load and current, analyzing load-related genset start and stop strategies, power limits and heavy-duty startup strategies.
It is understood that Shanghai Jiahao has achieved certain results in the selection of electric propulsion equipment for ships. The company undertook the detailed design and production design tasks for the 19,500-tonne refined oil/chemical tanker for pod-type electric propulsion; completed the design of the twin-body wind turbine with electric propulsion system; completed the delivery of 3,200 tons of full-slewing electric propulsion The two-arm frame variable-width crane vessel was supervised by the three 7,000-ton smoke-line train ferry projects designed and built by China.
