During the excavation process, the gold mining vessel makes a fan-shaped circular orphan motion centering on the anchoring pile, and makes the bucket on the bucket frame move continuously and laterally. At the same time, the bucket mines the ore on the working surface. After collecting a layer of ore on the working surface, the bucket is lowered and the next layer of ore is continuously mined until the last layer of ore is harvested. The fan-shaped circular orphan motion of the gold mining vessel is obtained by releasing or collecting the wire rope by means of the rotation of the hoist mounted on the pontoon. The other end of the wire rope is suspended from a pulley on the shore. After collecting all the ore sand of one working face, the gold mining ship is stepped forward (commonly known as entering the ship) by fixing one anchor pile and lifting the other anchor pile to extract the ore of the next working face.
The production process of the gold mining ship is shown in the figure below. When the gold mining vessel is working, the bucket excavator 2 excavates the ore and topsoil from the underwater working surface 1 and discharges it into the receiving funnel 3, and the ore immediately enters the rotating drum 4, and the topsoil generally falls without the rotating screen. It is transferred to the belt conveyor 10 and sent to the gravel pile 11 for accumulation on the belt conveyor below the drum screen. The drum screen has an inclination of 5° to 12° and a rotation speed of 0.8 to 1.2 m/s. A pressure water pipe is introduced into the drum screen in parallel with the center line of the drum screen, and the water pressure is 3 to 5 atmospheres. The ore is disintegrated by the flushing of the pressurized water and the rotating friction of the rotating sieve screen. Particles smaller than the mesh, that is, the undersize product, flow out through the mesh. The gold-free gravel, i.e., the oversize product, which is larger than the mesh opening, is discharged from the end of the sieve and sent to the belt conveyor 10 through the gravel runner 9 to be transported to the gravel pile 11.
The slurry flowing out through the mesh enters the slurry distributor 5 and is then fed into the chute 6 (or the jig) by the slurry distributor. In order to fully recover gold and other heavy minerals, a variety of wool or fluted pads are often applied to the bottom of the chute, which are then fitted with wooden or metal strips. As the slurry passes through the chute, it is trapped than the significant minerals that sink, and gradually accumulates in the grooves of the liner and the grooves of the bars. According to the accumulation degree of heavy minerals, the slurry is periodically stopped from feeding into the chute and recovering gold-bearing heavy sand. The tailings obtained by the chute selection are discharged through the tailings chute 7 at the tail of the ship and piled up on the tailings pile 8. The water for the gold mining vessel is supplied by the water pump 12.
