Russian light frigate launch missile

Recently, the Russian 20380 anti-air light frigate "Soobrazitelny" successfully destroyed a fake target simulating enemy surface ships in the Baltic Sea. According to Captain Vladimir Matviev, the ship fired a Redut missile at the target.

"The ship fired a missile and successfully hit a target at a certain distance from the sea. The target used radar interference, making the exercise more difficult," said Captain Vladimir Matviev.

This exercise was part of the joint military exercise of the Russian, Western, and Air Forces and Airborne Forces . The military exercise time overlapped with the NATO coalition's "Sword Strike" 2014 (Saber Strike 2014) military exercise and the Baltops 2014 military exercise. Russia has blocked the waters of this exercise to prevent accidental injuries to civilian vessels.

The "Smart" was delivered to the Russian Baltic Fleet in October 2011 and belongs to the Russian Navy's latest Class 1 light frigate.
