Guangxi Institute of Technology proposed to build a national heavy-duty vehicle parts R&D base

On September 5th, the feasibility study team of the construction project appointed by the Ministry of Education and headed by Prof. Guo Konghui, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, came to Liuzhou City to report on the advanced design and manufacturing of heavy-duty vehicle parts and components submitted by Guangxi Institute of Technology. The feasibility of the center construction project is discussed.

The Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education for the Advanced Design and Manufacturing of Heavy-duty Vehicle Parts proposed by the Guangxi University of Technology is a public platform for the research and development of automobile and construction machinery components with a college, enterprise, and scientific research institute. The total construction area is 6,000 square meters. The company has a technology research and development base, an engineering verification base, and a project information network center. The total investment of the project is 11 million yuan. At present, seven companies including Dongfeng Liuzhou Automobile, Liugong, and SAIC-GM-Wuling have planned to establish a joint construction unit with the project.

After discussion, the expert group unanimously held that the engineering research center is closely integrated with the development of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone and the construction of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, which is of great significance for improving the level of regional heavy-duty vehicle parts manufacturing and promoting regional economic development; The construction units have long been engaged in relevant research work and have obvious advantages in advanced design and manufacturing of heavy-duty vehicle parts. The expert group unanimously agreed to pass the feasibility study report.
