Within two years, the market capacity of China's electron microscope will rank first in the world

In order to strengthen the latest progress in the basic and applied research of AC electron microscopy and related instrumental technologies, and to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Electron Microscope Society, October 9, 2010, hosted by China Electron Microscope Society, the National Natural Science Foundation of China The “2010 National Electron Microscope Conference and the 8th Cross-Strait Electron Microscopy Academic Seminar” co-organized by the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of Zhejiang University and Zhejiang University opened in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Prof. Han Xiaodong, Institute of Solid Microstructure and Performance, Beijing University of Technology. More than 300 experts, manufacturers and users from the field of electron microscopy at home and abroad attended the closing ceremony, including more than 30 experts and scholars from Taiwan.

Academician Zhang Ze, the President of the General Assembly, addressed the meeting. Academician Zhang Ze said in his speech: “In the past 30 years, the continuous efforts and innovations of the China Electron Microscope Society have strongly promoted the academic development and international exchange of electron microscopy in China, and also stocked a large number of professionals. The electron microscopy market is growing at an annual rate of nearly one hundred units. It can be expected that the market size of China's electron microscopy will rank first in the world in the next two years.” In the end, Academician Zhang Ze wishes the conference a complete success.

Prof. Hu Yuguang delivered a speech: “A few years ago, the Taiwan Electron Microscope Society has changed its name to the Taiwan Microscope Society. The purpose of the rename was to hope to absorb more microscope talents and make applications for the exchange of electron microscopy technology between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. To attend this conference, it is hoped to continue the seven-day conference on cross-strait electron microscopy that will be well communicated with mainland experts and scholars in electron microscopy to jointly promote the development of electron microscopy technology on both sides of the Taiwan Strait."

As the co-organizer of the conference, Professor Yang Wei first welcomed the participants on behalf of Zhejiang University. At the same time, Prof. Yang Wei also stated: “At the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the China Electron Microscope Institute, Zhejiang University is honored to have the opportunity to co-host the conference and share the latest technological achievements of electron microscopy with celebrities at home and abroad. In March 2010, Zhejiang University began preparations for the establishment of a new electron microscopy center. The convening of the conference will promote the development of the electron microscopy center of Zhejiang University and the development of related disciplines."

Zhang Shouzhi Director expressed congratulations on the successful convening of the conference and pointed out that the China Electron Microscopy Society has played an important role in organizing and guiding the development of China's electron microscopy. At the same time, in order to promote the development of electron microscopy and related disciplines, Zhang Shou encouraged the experts and scholars to be creative and actively apply for scientific research projects related to electron microscopy. The National Natural Science Foundation of China will provide strong support.

At the opening ceremony, the world-famous electron microscopyist Hiroshi Yamamoto sent a video congratulations and displayed a lot of precious historical photographs. Together with everyone, he reviewed the achievements of the Chinese Electron Microscope Society over the past 30 years.

The conference also invited nearly 100 well-known domestic and foreign scholars and manufacturers' representatives to give wonderful conference reports and special invitations to the sub-meetings. The report includes: Transmission electron microscopes, scanning electron microscopes, microbeam analysis, scanning probe microscopes (including STM, AFM, etc.), confocal laser microscopes, etc. in physics, materials science, nanotechnology, life sciences, chemical engineering, environment Fundamental and applied research results in fields such as science and geology; developments and improvements in theories, techniques, and experimental methods of microscopy-related instruments; the use of electronic microscopes and other microscopy instruments, and the exchange of improvements and maintenance experience.

In addition, the General Assembly also invited 20 domestic and foreign instrument manufacturers to introduce the latest progress of electron microscopy and other related instruments and product demonstrations. In the same period, the conference will also hold the first China electron microscopy photography competition in 2010, and promulgate “Qian Linzhao Award”, “Hashimoto Prize”, Excellent Paper Award, and Excellent Poster Award.
