The 312 National Highway is one of the important roads for domestic road transport. The road in Shangluo City, Shaanxi Province, due to heavy traffic, heavy trucks, long service years, serious damage to the original asphalt road, has seriously affected the safety and comfort of driving.
As one of the key points of the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan†transportation development plan in Shangluo City, the 312 National Road from Shangzhou to Danfeng Section implemented a first-level road reconstruction project. The whole line adopts the technical standard construction of two-way four-lane first-class highway, and the design speed is 80 km/h.

The terrain and structure of Shangluo City is complex, and it is known as the “eight mountains, one water and one fieldâ€. Most of the Shangluo section of the 312 National Road is a mountainous road with many curved roads and steep slopes. The width of the road is only 8-9 meters.
The local road conditions make the project mainly have the following two difficulties:
1. Under the condition of complicated road conditions and large traffic flow, how to achieve rapid construction and minimize the impact on road traffic.
2. In the mountainous areas with fragile ecological environment, how to reduce the environmental impact of new stone mining, transportation and waste disposal during construction, and achieve recycling of materials.
Solution: In-situ cold recycling technology from Wirtgen
Taking into account the difficulties in project implementation, after comprehensive consideration, the construction party decided to use Wirtgen cement on-site cold regeneration technology to carry out one-time regeneration and maintenance of the asphalt surface layer and local base layer of the original road.
The original pavement is soil base layer and subbase layer + 30 cm water stable layer + 11 cm asphalt surface layer. The repair process is to cut off the 2 cm asphalt surface layer and then damage the damaged 9 cm asphalt surface layer material and 11 cm water stable layer. regeneration.
Complete cold regeneration and add paving of 20 cm water stable layer and asphalt surface layer
The thickness of the regenerated layer after compaction was 20 cm by adding 4.2% cement and 3% water to the old material. After the strength of the regenerated layer is formed, a new water stabilizing layer of 20 cm and an underlying layer of 8 cm of asphalt are added on top, and a 5 cm asphalt wear layer is placed on the top to complete the reconstruction of the pavement. The total regeneration area of ​​the project is about 150,000 square meters and the construction period is one month.
