Renault Global Sales Increased by 10.4% in the First Half of the Year

According to official data released by Renault Group, Renault Group's (including Lada)'s global new car (PC + LCV) registration volume increased by 10.4% in the first half of the year, and global sales reached 1.88 million; its market share in the global market reached 4.1%, an increase of 0.3% compared to 2016. In addition, sales of Renault, Renault and Dacia brand all reached new records in the first half of the year. Sales of Renault Samsung rose 12.5%, while Lada rose 12.2%.

Reynolds Asia Pacific Registration Volume Up 50.5%

Renault's registration in the Asia Pacific region rose by 50.5%. Renault sold nearly 36,000 vehicles in the Chinese market (only 9,771 sold in the same period of last year), an increase of approximately 268.44% year-on-year, including 21,000 new Correo. In addition, Renault Samsung's sales growth in the Korean market reached 12.5%, which accounted for 4.2% of market share. Renault Group's registration of new cars in Europe is still growing faster than sales. In the first half of 2017, Renault Group's new European car registrations increased by 5.6%, with 1,025,146 units sold, an increase of 4.4% year-on-year.

Sales of Renault's brand in Europe continued to increase. In the first half of 2017, the registration volume rose by 4.3%, and the market share accounted for 8.2%. The growth of Renault's brand sales was mainly attributed to the upgraded Megana series sedan in 2016. The Clio 4 is the second best-selling car in Europe, and Captur is the number one crossover in this category.

Renault holds a leading position in the field of electric vehicles, with a market share of 26.8% and sales volume up 34%. Zoe registrations for the best-selling electric vehicles in Europe rose 44% year-on-year.

In the first half of the year, the number of registrations of Dacia Brands in Europe reached 245,453 units. The market share accounted for 2.6%, and its registration volume increased by 9.3% year-on-year, mainly due to the release of Sandero and Duster at the end of 2016.

In France, the Renault brand passenger car achieved the best sales for six months in six years. Twingo, Clio, Talisman and Espace are leading sales in their respective categories. The Dacia brand revives the passenger car market retail record with Sandero. ZOE is still ahead of sales in the electric vehicle sector, accounting for nearly 70% of France's electric passenger car sales. The number of new cars registered is 9,200, an increase of 42% year-on-year.

Renault has achieved a certain degree of growth both in terms of sales volume and market share outside of Europe. Renault Group's registration of new vehicles has increased by 16.8% year-on-year. Among them, Renault's sales in the Iranian region surged 100.3%, which accounted for 9.8% of market share, up 4 percentage points. In India, Renault is still the top European brand in the market with a market share of 3.3%. Registration of Renault-European Region increased 8.6% year-on-year

Renault's registration in the Eurasia region increased by 8.6% year-on-year, while the market share including the Lada brand increased by 1.4 percentage points to 24.5%, which was mainly attributable to the great popularity in the Russian market. For the first time in four years, Renault Group’s market share in Russia has increased, while its sales, including Lada, have increased by 14%. Thanks to the success of the new Vesta and Xray, the Lada brand's sales rose by 12.8% and the market share increased by 1 percentage point to 19.5%. The Renault brand's market share reached 8.5%, up 0.7%. The number of Kaptur brands registered in June 2016 exceeded 14,140 in the first half of the year; sales of the Lada brand increased by 8%, while the market share increased by 1.2 percentage points to 19.1%. Therefore, combining the sales of the Lada brand in Russia, Russia has become the second largest market for the Renault Group.

Reynolds Americas Sales Up 14.6%

Renault’s sales in the Americas increased by 14.6%. Market share rose by 0.4 percentage points to 6.5%. 2017 Renault Group Market Share Outlook

In 2017, Renault Group's global market will have an increase of approximately 1.5% to 2.5%. In the second half of 2017, the European market share is still expected to increase by 2%, and the French market share is expected to increase by 2%. Outside of Europe, the market share of Russia may increase by more than 5%, while Brazil’s market share may increase by 5%. The growing market share of China and India is expected to continue.
