As 130,455 Honda CR-Vs were formally recalled this month, it seems that they have temporarily come to an end. However, the majority of consumers are buying, when will the CR-V be able to be sold and lifted? The question remains to be answered.

From a country-by-country perspective, in May, a total of 3 brands in the Ashkenazi recalled 659,911 vehicles, which accounted for 80.68% of the total, and the largest number of recalls. Secondly, the Japanese brand also had a total of 132,181 cars recalled, accounting for 16.16% of the total; Next, the autonomous 2 brands recalled 21,748 vehicles, which accounted for 2.66%; Italy, the United States, and the French brand recalled 2,799, 1,179, and 141 vehicles, respectively, accounting for 0.34%, 0.14%, and 0.02% respectively.

In May, during the recall of domestic passenger cars, Audi totally recalled 659,049 imported and domestic models in one batch and became the brand with the largest number of recalls, accounting for as much as 80.57% of the total. The reason for this recall is that there may be two failure modes for some vehicles and engine auxiliary coolant pumps: 1. The auxiliary coolant pump may be blocked by foreign matter and cause overheating; 2. The water vapor in the auxiliary coolant pump may cause internal circuit short circuit. Causes the local coolant temperature of the auxiliary coolant pump to be too high and corrodes the relevant parts. In severe cases, it may cause a fire in the engine compartment and there are safety hazards.

In this regard, FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd.'s solution is: commissioned Audi dealers in accordance with the plan in three batches of free replacement of the vehicle within the recall of the improved auxiliary coolant pump to eliminate security risks.

What is also worth noting is that the “Gaotian recalls” that were held every month in April this year ended in a temporary paragraph this month. There were no recalls initiated in May. However, the scope of the impact is wide and deep. There is still a long way to go before the storm completely subsides.

The most recalled by the consumers in the May recall was Dongfeng Honda's official recall of the 12,018 CR-Vs equipped with 1.5T engines for the “throttle” incident.

The wave of “motor throttle” incidents broke out in January this year when some media exposed the problem that the Honda new CR-V had gasoline dilution oil and caused the engine oil level to increase. According to statistics, from January to April, Dongfeng Honda sold 17666 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 9.8%. CR-V performance was extremely dismal. In the first four months of 2012, the cumulative sales volume was 22,268 units, a year-on-year decrease of 61.4%. And so far, CR-V is still in the ban on sales, but even if it resumes sales, consumers may be greatly reduced its degree of recognition.
