The concentration of cyanide and oxygen in the slurry is the two main factors affecting the dissolution rate of gold . The relationship between the dissolution rate of gold and silver and the concentration of cyanide is shown in the figure below.
It can be seen from the above figure that when the concentration of cyanide is less than 0.05%, the dissolution rate of gold increases with the increase of the cyanide concentration in the solution until the cyanide concentration increases to 0.15%. Continue to increase the cyanide concentration, and the dissolution rate of gold decreases. The reason why the dissolution rate of gold in a low concentration cyanide solution is large is due to the large solubility of oxygen and the high diffusion rate of oxygen and solvent in a dilute solution.
When the cyanide concentration is low, the dissolution rate of gold depends only on the concentration of the cyanide solution; and when the cyanide concentration is high, the dissolution rate of gold is independent of the cyanide concentration, and is determined only by the oxygen concentration. Therefore, in the cyanidation process, any decrease in the concentration of cyanide and oxygen in the cyanide solution will result in a decrease in the dissolution rate of gold; and when the cyanide concentration increases or exceeds a certain limit, the cyanide concentration and the oxygen concentration The proportion is destroyed and too much cyanide is retained and cannot be effectively utilized.
