RayVio, a global leader in solutions for deep UV LED devices and disinfection systems, announces the achievement of optical power performance recording of deep UV LEDs. Using a unique deep UV LED epitaxial technology, RayVio achieves a DC power of 45 milliwatts deep in the UV band (260 to 280 nanometers) over a 0.15mm2 single-chip area, creating a record of 30W / cm2 CW optical power density.
RayVio's core technology was invented by Dr. YitaoLiao, co-founder and CTO of RayVio, with professor Theodore Moustakas, a pioneer in the development of blue LEDs and the solid-state lighting revolution, and was independently licensed by Boston University. RayVio uses a new approach to epitaxy that offers more optical power and lower cost than existing products in the market, compared to the traditional techniques that the UV LED industry has tried repeatedly over the past 15 years without success.
