Cummins: A pioneer in actively responding to climate challenges

On June 28, 2011, Cummins announced that the company had exceeded its commitment to 25% of greenhouse gas emission reductions to the Climate Leaders project. The project was initiated by the U.S. Federal Environmental Protection Agency and was widely participated by well-known U.S. companies.

As a participant in the government-enterprise cooperation project, members of the climate leader project must complete the GHG emissions inventory within their own companies based on the quality management system, formulate active emission reduction targets, and make annual progress reports to the US Federal Environmental Protection Agency.

Cummins joined the program in 2006 and set a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 25% from 2005 to 2010. By the end of 2010, the company actually achieved a 28% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
