According to Jürgen Otto, CEO of Brose Group, Brose’s global business growth exceeded expectations in 2011, with sales up 16% year-on-year to €4 billion (approximately $5.3 billion).
All business sales increased, including a year-on-year growth of 29% in sales of seat systems; closed system sales increased 20% year-on-year; sales of door systems increased by 10% year-on-year.
From the perspective of regional market sales, Brose recorded the fastest sales growth in the North American Free Trade Agreements region in 2011, with an increase of 25%; followed by Asia, an increase of 20%; and European sales increased by 15%.
In addition to the business growth at Brose in 2011, the number of employees also increased, with 1,850 new employees. As of December 2011, Brose employed 19,000 employees in 67 countries, of which approximately 9, 000 people in Germany.
