In the first quarter, the export market for commercial vehicles showed a steady growth. According to customs statistics, from January to March, the total number of commercial vehicle exports totaled 61,191, an increase of 48.54% year-on-year. Among them, all types of freight vehicles (statistics include: tractors, dump trucks, general trucks, freight vehicle chassis four categories) a total of 48,117 exports, an increase of 23.07%; passenger car and chassis exports a total of 5377, an increase of 95.24%; The special-purpose vehicles exported 3,753 vehicles, a year-on-year growth of 451.7%.

Export product structure is more reasonable

Affected by domestic export policies, although the total export volume of commercial vehicles by domestic companies in the first quarter of this year was very large, the increase in exports was significantly reduced. In particular, the growth rate of the total export volume of freight vehicles and total exports was relatively low. From the current analysis of export product structure, the proportion of freight vehicle exports decreased from 82.77% in the same period of last year to 78.63%, and the proportion of sales of special vehicles increased by nearly 5 percentage points from last year, indicating that the structure of commercial vehicle export products is more reasonable.

Analyzing from the target market segmentation, overseas export markets are mainly concentrated in the African continent, Middle East, East Asia and Southeast Asia markets, Latin America and other regional markets, and the effective demand is relatively insufficient. From the perspective of export products, the main focus is on low tonnage. In terms of products, diesel trucks and petrol trucks with a capacity of less than 5 tons are the main models. Large-tonnage, high-horsepower vehicles have a relatively small export volume. From the point of view of export product technology, domestic auto companies’ products are basically exported with relatively low technological content. , low-end trucks; export volume of special vehicles has improved, but the market is still in its infancy.

Tractor-trailer exports: maintain rapid growth

From January to March, the total number of tractor-trailers exported was 4,274, an increase of 26.52% year-on-year; the trade volume reached 149 million US dollars, an increase of 40.98% year-on-year. From a regional point of view, the main markets for tractors' exports in the first quarter were concentrated in Central Asian countries and Iran, Syria, Nigeria, Sudan and other countries and regions.

Ordinary truck export: 5 tons of cars under the lead role

In overseas export markets, the total volume of ordinary trucks exported was 40,881 vehicles. Ordinary trucks below 5 tons have relative price competitive advantage, with the largest export volume, and the total export volume is 34,898 vehicles, accounting for 85.36% of the total export volume of freight vehicles. Among them, diesel trucks with a total vehicle weight of ≤5 tons became the main export models, with a total of 16,179 exports, accounting for 73.58% of the total exports of diesel trucks, an increase of 89.51% year-on-year; the trade volume was 105 million US dollars, an increase of 103.03% over the same period. The export market for diesel trucks with a total vehicle weight of ≤ 5 tons is mainly concentrated in Pakistan, Syria, Albania, Malaysia and other countries and regions.

The export of gasoline-powered goods vehicles with a total vehicle weight of ≤5 tons also showed a strong trend, with a total of 18,719 exports, accounting for 99.08% of the total exports of gasoline-powered goods vehicles, an increase of 9.65% year-on-year; the trade volume was 7.7 billion U.S. dollars. The growth rate is 94.74%. Its export regions mainly include the Russian Federation, Pakistan, Kuwait and other countries and regions.

In the overseas export market, the proportion of domestic vehicles with 5 tons or more trucks is not large, but it has generally shown good growth in the first quarter, among which, the export volume of diesel trucks with 5 tons ≤ vehicle gross weight ≤ 14 tons has increased year-on-year. Up to 321.52%, the trade volume increased by 317.45%; the truck market with a total vehicle weight of ≥20 tons was the only diesel truck with a downturn.

Statistics show that the total export volume of diesel-powered trucks with 5 tons ≤ vehicle gross weight ≤ 14 tons is 4,152, an increase of 321.52%; the trade volume is 45 million US dollars, an increase of 317.45%; 14 tons is less than or equal to 20 tons The total number of truck exports was 208, an increase of 61.24% year-on-year; the trade volume was 0.05 billion US dollars; the total volume of trucks with total vehicle weight ≥ 20 tons was 1449, a year-on-year decrease of 27.11%; the trade volume was 0.522 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 15.73% .

The main exporter of gasoline-powered trucks with a total vehicle weight of ≥5 tons is North Korea. The total export volume of gasoline-powered trucks with 5 tons of vehicles or less than or equal to 8 tons of vehicles totaled 101 units, an increase of 77.19% over the same period of last year; the trade volume was 161,800 USD, a year-on-year increase of 57.29%. Total exports of petrol trucks with a gross vehicle weight of ≥8 tons totaled 73 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 25.86%; the trade volume was 220,000 USD.

Dump Truck Export: Foreign Contracting Projects Promote Growth

With the increasing number of foreign contracted projects, the export demand for dump trucks has increased significantly. From January to March, the total number of domestic dump trucks exported was 2,940, an increase of 160.87% year-on-year; the trade volume was US$84 million, an increase of 230.86% year-on-year. Domestic dump trucks export areas are mainly concentrated in Algeria, Congo and Sudan (mainly vehicles required for foreign contracting projects), Vietnam, South Africa, Ethiopia and other countries and regions.

Chassis: "Other Types" of Chassis into Export Main

From January to March, the total number of automobile chassis exports was 4,334, with a trade volume of US$14 million. Among them, the total mass of truck chassis ≥ 14 tons exported 5 vehicles, the total vehicle weight was <14 tons exported a total of 694 vehicles, the trade volume was 243,500 US dollars, 4,872,200 US dollars; more than 30 buses chassis exports a total of 390, the trade volume was 628.59 Million US dollars; dump truck chassis exports 16, the trade volume of 16,100 US dollars; other types of car chassis exports 3229, accounting for 74.5% of the total chassis exports, becoming the main chassis into the exporter, the trade volume of 2,878,100 US dollars.

Special car market: Power car drives special car exports to grow rapidly

From January to March, exports of special vehicles totaled 3,753 units, an increase of 454.36% year-on-year, and the trade volume was 173 million USD, an increase of 251.05% year-on-year. Among them, the power car exports 2044, accounting for 54.46% of total exports; domestic crane market exports a total of 747, an increase of 207.41%, trade volume of 109 million US dollars, an increase of 330.67%.

The total number of exports of cement trucks, medical vehicles, and other special vehicles was 930, a year-on-year increase. Cement mixer trucks grew steadily, exporting a total of 312 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 352.17%. The trade volume was US$16 million, an increase of 283.80% year-on-year; other types of special vehicle exports totaled 542 vehicles, an increase of 59.88% year-on-year, with a trade volume of US$37 million. Increased by 198.62%.

Total volume of commercial vehicle exports in the second quarter: Total volume exceeds 71,000 vehicles

In 2007, the macroeconomic environment had relatively few favorable factors for the export of commercial vehicles, but the commercial vehicle market in China has entered a “stable and mature growth period”. The export policy and the appreciation of the renminbi have a relatively large impact on the export market of domestic commercial vehicles. According to current market development trends, the export market for commercial vehicles in 2007 will not be cooled. The industry generally believes that the total export volume of domestic commercial vehicles in the second quarter will exceed 71,000 vehicles.
