Researchers developed a "skin-friendly" nano-sensor

Japanese researchers recently developed a new type of nano-sensor can be attached to the skin, light weight, breathable, stretchable, and not easy to cause skin discomfort. This sensor is expected to be used for health monitoring purposes.

According to the Japan Institute of Chemistry and Chemical introduced this new sensor by the Institute and Tokyo University and other researchers jointly developed using conductive nanostructures, can be used directly on the skin for a long time to detect changes in pressure, temperature or collection EMG signals and so on.

Researchers say the sensor is barely noticeable on the skin and does not cause any discomfort. Skin tests on 20 subjects showed that a clear inflammatory response did not result even if applied to the skin for a week. This research has been published online in the journal Nature Nanotechnology.
