Maoming Petrochemical 350,000-ton HDPE installation completed

On June 30th, Maoming Petrochemical Company established a 350,000-ton high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plant with an annual capacity of 350,000 tons, and entered the start-up phase of the drive. At the same time, a 640,000 tons/year pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation unit was built and delivered.

This 350,000-ton/year HDPE unit is one of the four new installations for the 1 million tonne/year ethylene renovation and expansion project of Maoming Petrochemical, with an investment of over 600 million yuan. It is currently the most advanced production equipment with the largest single-line production in Asia and the most advanced domestic technology. .

The technical content of this device is the highest among the 4 new installations of Maoming Petrochemical's expansion and expansion project. Among them, reactor circulation pumps, catalyst activation furnaces and other core equipment were imported from 9 countries, and a total of 135 equipments were introduced. Many of the process equipments were adopted for the first time in China. The device introduces the United States Chevron-Phillips company's loop pipe slurry process technology, has a single line production capacity, product variety, good quality, can produce blown plastic, film material, drawing material, pipe material, injection plastic More than 20 brands of HDPE products such as cable materials. At the same time, a 640,000-ton/year pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation unit was built, with an investment of 110 million yuan, which will expand the original production capacity of 250,000 tons/year to 640,000 tons/year without stopping production of the original plant, which will help increase the current market. The shortage of benzene products.

HDPE has the advantages of anti-aging, low temperature resistance, acid and alkali resistance, high crystallinity, good insulation, and good processing and molding properties. It has a wide range of uses in home appliances, electronics, textiles and other fields, but there are serious contradictions between supply and demand in the country. At present, the demand for more than 50% of HDPE in the domestic market depends on imports. Last year, the demand for HDPE in China was 4.23 million tons, an increase of 11.5% over the previous year. Among them, HDPE imports reached 2.316 million tons, an increase of 5.4% over the previous year. The completion of the 350,000-ton/year HDPE installation of Maoming Petrochemical will play a positive role in relieving domestic supply and demand contradictions. It is reported that the completion of the project also fills a gap in the production of HDPE plastics in Guangdong Province.
