I study solid waste classification standards and techniques

The “China Solid Waste Grading Standards and Technology Research” project undertaken by the China-Japan Friendship Environmental Protection Center has recently been listed by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Science and Technology as special research projects for key environmental protection and public welfare industries in 2008.

The project will initially establish a classification and management system for solid waste in China based on the characteristics of China's solid waste production and management, make proposals for improving the "Solid Law", provide technical support for formulating China's solid waste management and disposal and disposal technology policies, and report for solid wastes. Registration provides the basis. The study of this topic will help China to strengthen solid waste management, promote the comprehensive utilization and safe disposal of waste, and it is expected to be completed in 2009.

The Liaoning Solid Waste Management Center, one of the three provincial-level cooperating units, will be responsible for the investigation of solid wastes in the petrochemical and chlor-alkali industries and the establishment of a database of typical solid waste characteristics.

It is reported that the project mainly includes the domestic and foreign solid waste classification management practice research and China's solid waste characteristics research in two parts. Through the investigation and study of the classification and management system for solid wastes in the United States, the European Union, Japan, Russia, and Hong Kong and Taiwan Provinces of China, we have mastered the internationally accepted solid waste classification principles and classification and classification management objectives. At the same time, aiming at the characteristics of solid waste production in China, we will select typical areas and typical wastes for follow-up investigations and test analysis to determine their pollution pathways and targets, possible and appropriate comprehensive utilization and disposal methods, and the overall level of environmental risk in the management process. The hierarchical model of solid waste pollution characteristics, disposal characteristics and management characteristics lays the foundation for the establishment of a solid waste classification and management system in China.
