rod mill
The rod mill is characterized in that the grinding medium is in line contact with the ore during the grinding process, and thus has a certain selective grinding effect, the product granularity is relatively uniform, and the crushed ore particles are less. When used for coarse grinding, the product size is 1-3mm, the processing capacity of the rod mill is larger than that of the ball mill of the same specification; when used for fine grinding, the particle size of the product is less than 0.5mm, the grinding effect is not the same as the ball mill of the specification. The grain size of the rod mill is generally 15-25m. When the diameter of the rod mill is more than 2400mm, the upper limit of the ore size can reach 40-50mm, and the upper limit of the product size of the rod mill can reach 1-3mm.

mill beneficiation plants commonly have two kinds of lattice type and overflow. The lattice type is divided into two types: short tube type and long tube type. Usually the short tube type is used for rough grinding and the long tube type is used for fine grinding.
The main part of the overflow ball mill is simple structure, good management, easy maintenance, fine grain size of the grinding product (generally less than 0.2mm). The disadvantage is that the surface of the ore is high, the residence time of the slurry in the grinding machine is long, and the volume per unit volume is processed. Low, the size of the ore discharge is uneven, and it is easy to produce excessive pulverization.
The overflow ball mill is suitable for the second stage of grinding and intermediate product re-grinding in the two-stage grinding process.
The grid end of the lattice type ball mill is provided with a grid plate. The advantage is that the slurry surface is relatively low, the qualified product can be discharged in time, the over-grinding of the ore is reduced, the grinding efficiency is high, and the unit treatment volume is about 15% higher than the overflow ball mill of the same specification; the ball loading is more. The disadvantage is that the structure is complicated, the grid plate is easy to break, the maintenance is difficult, the weight is large, and the equipment price is high.
The upper limit of the particle size of the grating type ball mill grinding product is generally 0.2-0.3 mm. Therefore, it is often used for the first stage of grinding, and often forms a closed circuit with the spiral classifier.
