In November 2010, the Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Engine Plant dCi11 engine produced 2,725 units, which is a new high since the aircraft was put into operation, and it also marked the successful realization of the annual capacity of 30,000 units of dCi11 engines.
The dCi11 engine is a high-power engine developed by Dongfeng on the basis of digestion and absorption of Renault technology and aimed at the Chinese market and customers. The annual output was only 10,000 units in the initial period. Since 2009, the output of the aircraft has continuously increased. The engine plant started the 30,000 capacity enhancement projects in July 2009 in due course. The focus of production capacity improvement is cylinder block cylinder heads. The cylinder block adds 6 special machine automatic lines and 10 machining centers. The cylinder head adds 2 special machine automatic lines and 12 machining centers. The capacity increase plan was completed in October 2010. It was actually put into production one month ahead of schedule. The production line was fully put into operation in September and the project investment was 215 million yuan.
Assistant Director Xie Changzheng of the plant said that in order to ensure the completion of a high-quality production line, the project team strictly implemented the TS16949 quality management concept and compiled a detailed plan in accordance with the ANPQP (New Product Quality Control Procedure) system requirements, including humans, machines, and materials. The five major elements of law and ring are taken as key quality control factors, and process assessments are conducted. After completing the commissioning of each process, it shall be signed by the Minister of Quality Insurance. After each line is completed, it shall be signed by the competent director to pass. Strict procedures eliminated the phenomenon that “radish won't wash mud quicklyâ€, preferring to take fewer orders and guarantee quality. Judging from the scheduling situation in the past two months, the production line will be able to realize full-load production as soon as it is completed. The concept of “quality first†has already formed a market effect.
Since the beginning of 2010, the dCi11 engine has been in short supply. In order to seize the opportunity, the project will be completed as soon as possible. Members of the project's cross-functional team will begin to invest in the commissioning work from the beginning of the plant's entry into the plant in May without taking a day off. The project leader, Zhou Wenqiang, said: “The project team holds a promotion meeting at 5 pm every day and does not complete the work without a node. The project team overcomes the unfavorable factors such as lack of technical strength and young people, and promotes the courage of the engine manufacturers to fight hardships. The spirit of winning tough battles has created a new installation and commissioning record, with the cylinder line starting to be installed in May and trial production on July 20, the cylinder head line being installed in June and trial production on August 20; Successfully; Crankshaft Grinding Machine has been commissioned and put into production in 20 days. This was impossible in the past."
Dong Yong, director of the Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Engine Plant, said: “After several years of marketing, the economicality and reliability of the dCi11 engine have won high praise from customers and a good reputation has gradually emerged. The current output is still rising. The output in November has exceeded 30,000 units, indicating that our newly built capacity is not enough. This also indicates that we need to start a three-phase investment plan, and we have begun to plan 60,000 units of dCi11 engines to be upgraded."
